Biography

Dr. Annette von Drygalski is a board-certified hematologist and associate professor at UC San Diego School of Medicine, where she directs the Hemophilia and Thrombosis Treatment Center. Specializing in diseases of the blood, spleen, and lymph, Dr. von Drygalski focuses on the needs of aging hemophilia patients, including cardiovascular and joint disease management. She conducts translational and clinical research, particularly on long-acting clotting factors and the management of hypertension and bone disease in hemophilia patients. Dr. von Drygalski completed her medical and pharmaceutical education at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, and further specialized in hematology/oncology at UC San Diego, after an internal medicine residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She has received multiple awards for her research, including a Bayer Early Career Investigator Award and a National Hemophilia Foundation career development award.
