Biography

Dr. ter Brugge is an internationally recognized interventional neuroradiologist specializing in the treatment of patients with brain vascular disorders, especially brain aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations, and acute stroke. After 40 years of clinical service and leadership with the Joint Department of Medical Imaging, Dr. ter Brugge has retired from his role as Head of the Division of Neuroradiology and Site Chief of Medical Imaging at Toronto Western Hospital.

Dr. ter Brugge is credited with pioneering the treatment for Vein of Galen Malformation, building a multidisciplinary program combining neurointerventional and neurovascular surgery teams, providing the foundation for the Toronto Western Hospital neurovascular database, and authoring a four-volume textbook that is currently used by interventional radiolology professionals worldwide.

Dr. ter Brugge has been sharing his expert knowledge around the globe for the past 40 years. He has accomplished his vision of building a world-class team of diagnostic and interventional neuroradiologists, nurses and technologists and he continues to teach and train neurointerventional therapists around the world.
