Biography

Helen Arthur is Emerita Professor of Cardiovascular Biology in the Biosciences Institute, Newcastle University, UK. She gained a BSc in Genetics from the University of Liverpool and a PhD in Molecular Genetics from the University of Nottingham. Following a 10 year career break to bring up her young family, she was awarded a research career re-entry fellowship from the Wellcome Trust followed by a senior research fellowship from the British Heart Foundation. Her research focusses on roles of Endoglin and Alk1 in cardiovascular development and on using preclinical models of HHT to understand disease pathobiology.
